This house, on a spectacular site on the slopes above Apia was designed for an eminent couple as their retirement home. It s a completely tropical residence making it comfortable in Apia’s climate with minimum energy consumption. Our clients for the project have a very strong design sense and were closely involved in the project at all stages.

All the main areas of the residence have the wonderful views of Apia and the Pacific Ocean and cross ventilation ensures that all the rooms can be comfortable the year round. These constraints have resulted in a relatively narrow structure stretching across the gently sloping site with a generous basement housing the utility areas.
